Wayne Strouss Matchett

Wayne Strouss Matchett, 85, of Bulger, died peacefully on April 1, 2015

He was born June 6, 1929 in Candor, a son of the late Neal S. and Kathryn Culley Matchett

Mr. Matchett was a graduate of the former North Fayette High school in Imperial. He and his wife Doris were self-employed Dairy farmers all of their lives. He loved eating breakfast every week at Bob Evans where he would enjoy the cinnamon pancakes. He loved gardening, animals, and visiting with people. Following his wife’s death, he enjoyed sitting on his front porch and going to dinner with his two buddies, Jake and Ed.

On June 9, 1973 he married Doris June Lescallette who died in March of 2011.

Wayne is the last of his immediate family.

Surviving are ten nieces and nephews, Neal (Linda) Matchett, David (Jane) Matchett, both of Bulger; Jerry (Ana) Matchett of Brusly, LA; Barbara (Skip) Bartlett and Robert Matchett both of Oakdale; Jim Loffert of NC., Alan Loffert of FL. and Gary Loffert of GA.; Tim (Loretta) Lescallette of Weirton, WV, Carter Lescallette of OH. and many great nieces and nephews.

Deceased are three brothers Neal, Dale and Ernest Matchett; A sister Naomi Loffert and a niece Susan Jenkins.

Family will receive friends Monday April 6, 2015 from 2-4 and 6-8 pm at Nation Funeral Home Inc. 220 E. Lincoln Ave. McDonald, Pa 15057 where services will be held on Tuesday April 7, 2015 at 11:00 am. Interment will follow in Raccoon Cemetery in Bulger.
