Theodore C. Dempe

June 24, 1931 — June 14, 2013

Theodore C. Dempe, 81, of Coraopolis, died Friday, June 14, 2013 at St. Claire Hospital, Mt. Lebanon.

He was born June 24, 1931 in North Bessemer, a son of the late Joseph and Lucille (McGinnis) Dempe.

Mr. Dempe served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War.

For 40 years, he was an airline mechanic with T.W.A.  and worked at the Greater Pittsburgh Airport, the majority of time, before retiring in 1996.

He was a member of the International Association of Machinists.  He enjoyed hunting and fishing and tinkering with cars.  He loved fixing things and helping people.

Surviving are three sons, C. Michael (Joanne) Dempe of Mt. Lebanon, David Joseph (Amy) Dempe of Dayton, OH and Keith Alan Dempe of Coraopolis; a former wife, Clara Ann Dempe of Oakdale; a sister, Viola Jean “Porky” Hampson of McDonald; two brothers, John Donald “Jack” Dempe of McDonald and Robert Evan “Bud” Dempe of Sturgeon; and six grandchildren, Benjamin, Daniel and Nicole, Jeremy, Christopher and Joshua Dempe.

Deceased are three brothers, Hinton Alvin “Skeets” , Joseph Ralph and William Eugene “Bill” Dempe; and two sisters, Bertha Laverne Foglio and Betty Hampson.

A memorial gathering of close friends and family will be held at Nation Funeral Home, Inc., 220 E. Lincoln Ave., McDonald from 2 – 4 p.m. on Saturday, June 29 th with a Celebration of Life Service at 4:00 p.m.  Online condolences, photos and additional information are available at www.nationfuneralhome.com.
