Thelma H. (Wagner) Russell

Thelma H. Russell, 90, of McDonald, died Sunday, June 15, 2014 at McMurray Hills Manor.
She was born October 27, 1923 in Yukon, a daughter of the late George and Anna Mae (Hoffman) Wagner.
Mrs. Russell was a 1943 graduate of Burgettstown High School and worked for her brother until she got married in 1946. She later worked as a cashier at the former G.C. Murphy in McDonald for 20 years before retiring in 1985.
She was a member of Center U.P. Church, Midway and the Midway Sr. Citizens.
On July 1, 1946, she married George D. Russell, who died on June 27, 1990.
Surviving are two sons, George D. (Jenny) Russell, Jr. of McDonald and Charles J. (Jeannette) Russell of Bellvue; a sister, Anna Mae Spatharos of Amherst, OH; and two grandchildren, Kristy (Jacob) Shoup and George (Megan) Russell, III.
Deceased are a grandaughter, Brett Russell; five brothers, Richard, George Jr., Edward, Charles Albert and James Wagner; and two sisters, Alice Scott and Ruth “Minnie” Pollon.
Friends will be received from 2 – 8 p.m. Tuesday at Nation Funeral Home, Inc., 220 E. Lincoln Ave., McDonald, where services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, June 18 with Rev. Brian Kilbert, pastor of Center U.P. Church, Midway, officiating. Burial will follow in Center Cemetery, Midway. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Center U.P. Church, Midway, PA 15060.
