Stanley Philip Lauff, Sr., 80, of McDonald, died Sunday, November 2, 2014.
He was born June 22, 1934 in Arnold, the son of the late Philip and Anna (Mezynski) Lauff.
In 1954, Mr. Lauff started Lauff Heating and Air Conditioning with his father and operated the business until his retirement in 1999.
He was a member of Burgettstown Sr. Citizens and won the senior pool championship representing the Burgettstown center. For many years he was a coach in McDonald Youth and American Legion Baseball and in the 50’s was invited to try out for the Pirates farm team. He was an avid Hunter.
On February 26, 1954, he married Nancy Jean Holmes, who survives.
Also surviving are a daughter, Nancy J. Delprato of McDonald; four sons, Daniel Lauff of PA, Stanley P. “Stush” (Victoria) Lauff Jr., Randy L. (Rhonda) Lauff and John K. (Libby) Lauff, all of McDonald; a sister, Ruth Meyer of FL; eleven grandchildren, Christa, Brandy, Christopher, Michael, David, Katie, Lyndsie, Sydney, Casey, Brittany and Wesley; and five great grandchildren.
Friends will be received from 2 – 8 p.m. Wednesday at Nation Funeral Home, Inc., 220 E. Lincoln Ave., McDonald, where services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, November 6 th with Rev. Justin Amsler officiating. Burial will follow in Robinson Run Cemetery, McDonald. The family suggests memorials be made to the McDonald Food Bank or to the Burgettstown Senior Center.
