Ruth E. (Dye) Murdock

Ruth E. Murdock, 95, of Bulger, died Friday, January 15, 2016.

She was born January 26, 1920 in Caddo, TX, a daughter of the late Ross E. and Bianca (Attwood) Dye.

Mrs. Murdock was a homemaker and enjoyed bowling and crossword puzzles.

She was a member of St. Alphonsus R.C. Church, McDonald, a member of the Altar Society, and a member of the former McDonald Women’s Club. She volunteered as a Grey Lady at Canonsburg Hospital.

On February 27, 1937, she married William J. Murdock, who died June 5, 1997.

Surviving are four daughters, Lana M. (Alan) Cook of Springfield, MO, Lynn R. (Ted) Cryblskey of Fairfax, VA, Billie L. Guimond of Ft. Myers, FL, and Rebecca A. (Bob Gaitens) Murdock of Bulger; 11 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren, and 1 great great grandchild.

Deceased are a son, Thomas R. Murdock; two daughters, Mary Elizabeth and Kelly Jean Murdock; four brothers, Thomas, Paul E., Ross E. and Teddy Dye; and three sisters, Jennie Chiff, Esther Burford, and Mildred Shatto.

Friends will be received from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at Nation Funeral Home, Inc., 220 E. Lincoln Ave., McDonald. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, January 19, 2016 at St. Alphonsus R.C. Church, McDonald, with Rev. Ben Vaghetto, celebrant. Burial will follow in Resurrection Cemetery, Coraopolis. The family suggests memorial contributions be made to McGuire Memorial Home, 2119 Mercer Road, New Brighton, PA 15066.
