Ruth Hawkins

Ruth Hawkins, 90, of Southview, passed peacefully surrounded by her family on August 20, 2024.

She was born October 8, 1933 in Markleysburg, PA; a daughter of Daniel and Hazel Bird McCarthy.

Ruth worked as a packer for Patti Petite Cookie in Bridgeville where she retired in 2012. She enjoyed working on crossword puzzles, watching TV, cleaning and doing laundry, and spending time with her family and friends. Ruth was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother.

On August 19, 1950 she married William O. Hawkins, who passed on June 2, 1997.

Surviving are four children, William “Hawkeye” (Diane) Hawkins of Crown Point IN, Sandy Karmann of McDonald, Brian Hawkins of Southview and Pamela “John” Michalak of Cochranton; nine grandchildren, William III, Keith Jr. Brandon and Kelsie Hawkins, Brandy Ciammaichella, Ryan Karmann, John, Brad and Tyler Michalak; 19 great-grandchildren.

Deceased is a son Keith W. Hawkins; a grandson, Ronald W. Karmann Jr. a brother Charles McCarthy, and three sisters Annabelle McGinnis, Ada Smith, and Melvina Wolford.

Family will receive friends on Friday, August 23, 2024 from 2-4 and 6-8Pm at Graff-Nation Funeral and Cremation Service LLC. 220 E. Lincoln Ave McDonald, PA 15057; where services will take place immediately following visitation on Friday at 8PM. Interment will be private in Forest Lawn and Gardens. Memorial Contributions are suggested to St. Jude Children’s Hospital.
