Ronald L. Mindek

July 8, 1946 — June 25, 2014

Ronald L. “Mush” Mindek, 67, of McDonald died Wednesday, June 25, 2014 at Heritage Valley of Sewickley.

He was born July 8, 1946 in Mt. Pleasant Township, a son of Mariam (Clayton) Mindek of McDonald and the late Nick Mindek.

Mr. Mindek was a 1964 graduate of Fort Cherry High School. He worked as a paint mixer for Ideal Building Fasteners, Coraopolis for the past 9 years. Before that he owned Mush’s Auto Body Shop which later was Panhandle Valley Customs in McDonald.

He attended Berean Fellowship, Scott Township and McDonald Bible Methodist Church. He liked artwork and enjoyed rebuilding hot rods.

On June 24, 2000, he married Kimberly S. McIntyre, who survives.

Surviving in addition to his wife and mother are a son, Ben Mindek of McDonald; two step-daughters, Bethany Cummins of Midway and Elishea Pavlic of Smithton; two step-sons, Mark Pavlic of Moon and Jemuel (Stephanie) Pavlic of Elizabeth; two brothers, Rev. Douglas (Connie) Mindek of Trenton, NJ and Nicholas Mindek of McDonald; and four grandchildren, Mackenzie & Benjamin Mindek, Brayden O’Connor and Christopher Carter.

Friends will be received from 12 – 2 and from 6 – 8 p.m. Sunday at Nation Funeral Home, Inc., 220 E. Lincoln Ave., McDonald, where services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, June 30, with Rev. Douglas Mindek officiating.  Burial will follow in Robinson Run Cemetery, McDonald. The family suggests memorials be made to Washington County Humane Society, PO Box 66, Eighty Four, PA 15330.
