Robert "Bob" John Growden Sr.

Robert "Bob" John Growden Sr., age 89, of Midway, passed on January 5, 2024 in Charlottesville,VA.

He was born on February 1, 1934; a son of Harry and Mabel Wolfe Growden.

Mr. Growden was a truck driver for 30 years and  he retired in 1992.

Bob was a member of the Midway Volunteer fire department where he served as a former engineer.

He also served on the Midway Town Council and also served as Road Commissioner.

He loved to work on small engines and tinker in his garage.

On November 5, 1959, he married Lorraine Growden, who passed, December 3, 2004. They met while both serving in the Air Force.

Surviving are two children. Daughter Valerie D’Amico and husband Joseph D’Amico. His son Robert J. Growden Jr. and his wife Edie J. Growden; two grandchildren, Sylvia J. Growden, Robert J. Growden III, and two brothers, Merle and Donald Growden.

Deceased are two sisters, Ester Bykens and Mary Carlton; one brother, Raymond Growden.

Family will receive friends on January 20, 2024 from 12-2PM at Graff – Nation Funeral and Cremation Services LLC. 220 E. Lincoln Ave. McDonald, PA. 15057. A Funeral Service will take place  immediately following visitation at 2PM on Saturday. Interment will be private.
