Robert W. Parris

August 14, 1934 — September 30, 2014

Robert W. Parris, 80, of Collier Township, died Tuesday, September 30, 2014 at St. Clair Memorial Hospital of Pittsburgh.

He was born August 14, 1934 in McDonald, a son of the late Fred and Elva (LeGrand) Parris.

Mr. Parris served in the U.S. Marine Corps during the Korean War.

He worked as an auto body man for Opeka’s Auto Repair in McMurray until he retired in 1996.

Mr. Parris was a volunteer for the Allegheny Department of Aging Ombudsman Program and a member of the McDonald Sportsmen and the Korean War Veterans Association.

On April 28, 1962, he married Patricia Allen, who survives.

Also surviving are two daughters, Adrienne Parris (Jeff) of Pittsburgh and Allison (Russ) Timco of McDonald; two grandchildren, Abby and Allen Timco; two sisters-in-law, Toni Allen of Carnegie and Ida Mae Parris of Crafton.

Deceased are a brother, Arthur Parris and a sister, Dorothy Altieri.

Friends will be received from 12 – 4 and from 6 – 8 p.m. Sunday, October 5 at Nation Funeral Home, Inc., 220 E. Lincoln Ave., McDonald, where services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, October 6 with Dave Carver, pastor of Crafton Heights U.P. Church, officiating. Burial will follow in Robinson Run Cemetery, McDonald.
