Richard W. Davidson

Richard W. Davidson, 69, of Bulger, died Wednesday, February 18, 2015 at his home.

He was born February 7, 1946 in Canonsburg, the son of the late James and Margaret (Gribbin) Davidson.

Mr. Davidson was a 1964 graduate of Fort Cherry High School and attended the University of Nebraska on a basketball scholarship.

He served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War and retired from the Air National Guard after 24 years of service.

Mr. Davidson worked for Peoples Natural Gas for 36 years before his retirement.

He was a member of the McDonald American Legion Post #485 and a life member of the McDonald V.F.W. Post #567.

Surviving are his wife, Nancy E. (Smiley) Davidson of Bulger; a son, Scott J. (Alicia) Davidson of Venetia; a sister, Faye Little of Eighty-four; four beloved granddaughters, Dallas, Dakota, Jordan and Kenedy Davidson; two step sons, Blake (Lauren) Risker of Downingtown and Cody (Megan) Risker of Olmsted Falls, OH; and a step grandson, Colton Risker.

Deceased is a sister, Peggy Jean Davis.

Services will be held at 12:30 p.m. Monday, February 23 at Nation Funeral Home, Inc., 220 E. Lincoln Ave., McDonald, followed by burial with full military honors at the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies, Bridgeville. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Washington Area Humane Society, 1527 PA-136, Eighty Four, PA 15330.
