Raymond I. "Sonny Or Doc" Mills

Raymond I.,” known as Sonny or Doc” Mills of Mt. Pleasant Twp. passed on Saturday, April 29, 2023.

He was born January 26, 1933 in Schellsburg, PA; a son of Isaac and Elsie Mills.

Raymond was a Korean War veteran, serving in the United States Army. After his service to our country he went to the Pittsburgh Institute of Aeronautics where he became an airplane mechanic. He then worked for over 30years for US Airways as a Mechanic Inspector. He retired in 1992.

Ray enjoyed hunting, fishing, bowling, gardening, attending silver sneakers, and shooting the breeze.

On December 3, 1953 he married Betty L. Mills, who passed on November 13, 2014.

Surviving are three sons, Douglas (late Mildred) Mills of Kentucky, Michael (Bundy) Mills of Hickory, and Gary Mills of McDonald; a sister Faye (Russ) Gaston of Johnstown; four grandchildren, Jermiah, Michael, Zach and Rebecca Mills; four great-grandchildren.

Deceased are seven sisters, Rudy Collins, Sally Severns, Dorothy Demarrco, Genevieve Music, Helen Hardy, Dolly Thomas and Jeanie Spicer.

At the request of Ray all services are private. He will be laid to rest at the Allegheny National Cemetery; Cecil Twp. Arrangements are entrusted to Nation Funeral Home Inc. 220 E.
