Pete Hradil

Pete Hradil, 86, of Sturgeon, died, Friday August 12, 2016.

He was born April 18, 1930 in Avella, the son of John and Katy (Husack) Hradil.

Mr. Hradil was a graduate of Aliquippa High School class of 1947 and Geneva College class of 1962. He served in the United States Marine Corps. from 1947 to 1950. Mr. Hradil then worked as a radio operator for the airlines. He retired in 1993 from Union Electric Steel in Carnegie after working there for over 20 years.

Mr. Hradil loved his family, his dog Baby, learning new things, and taking care of others.

His first wife was Nancy Tennyson who died July 5, 2010. His second wife, Louise Nyswaner Hradil died Feb. 20, 2015.

Surviving are a son, David G. (Lisa) Hradil of Sturgeon; a daughter, Robin M. (Joe) Vernon of McDonald; a brother, Alex (Alice) Hradil of Florida; a sister, Eve (Albert) Yanko of Aliquippa; a brother-in-law, Samuel Lucci of Center Twp.; a sister-in-law, Mary Sowers of Napolean, OH; five grandchildren, David G. “DJ” (Christine) Hradil Jr. of Sturgeon, Allen (Marina) Hradil of Bonney Lake, WA, Nicole (Jason) Yetsick of Oakdale, and David and Dustin Britt of Sturgeon; four great-grandchildren, Evelyn and Micah Hradil and Brandon and Jace Yetrick;.great friends, Helen Ruggieri, Glenn Tennyson and Donna Fike.

Deceased are two brothers, George and John Hradil; and two sisters, Katherine Chick and Anne Lucci.

A Committal service will take place at 12:30 p.m. Thursday, August 18, 2016 in the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies, Bridgeville. Arrangements are entrusted to Nation Funeral Home Inc., McDonald.
