Paul J. “Ducky” Salmon, 80, of Findleyville, formerly of Burgettstown, died Thursday, April 30, 2015.
He was born January 9, 1935 in Midway, the son of the late Paul J. and Lola (Lenore) Salmon.
Mr. Salmon was a graduate of Midway High School and worked as a signalman for Conrail Railroad until his retirement in 1994.
He was a member of the Brotherhood of Railroad Workers and a member of Independent Bible Presbyterian Church, McDonald. He enjoyed history and the history of wars, was a Steeler and Pirate fan and liked going to the casino. He loved the outdoors, nature and birds, but most of all loved time spent with his family.
On December 29, 1956, he married Joy A. Gillespie, who died February 5, 2011.
Surviving are two daughters, Shelly (Perry) Freshwater of McDonald and Laurie (Keith) Torboli of Findleyville; a son, Chris (Jennifer) Salmon of Findleyville; five grandchildren, Kelli (Kirt) Harbert, Kerri Freshwater, Skyler Torboli, Jacob Salmon and Isabella Salmon; and three great grandchildren, Camden Harbert, Caiden Harbert and Bailey Bohasky.
A memorial service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, May 9 at Independent Bible Presbyterian Church, Dempe Road, McDonald, with Rev. Dennis Lawrence officiating.
