Onelia Olivia (Rusciolelli) Zeno

Onelia Olivia Zeno, 92, of Bulger, died Wednesday, October 3, 2012 at Consulate Retirement Village of Canonsburg.

She was born May 26, 1920 in Santo Stefano Di Sessanio, Italy a daughter of the Edward Nino and Anna (Iazzani) Rusciolelli.

Mrs. Zeno was a homemaker and an avid gardener which was evident by her flower beds and the vegetables she put up every year.  She also was a fan of baseball and liked watching Little League games as much as the Pirates.

She was a member of St. Alphonsus R.C. Church, McDonald, a member of the Robinson P.T.A. and a member of A.A.R.P.  She worked for a time at the former Eagles Club in Sturgeon and the former McDonald Hardware.

On October 28, 1950, she married Carl L. Zeno, Sr. at St. Patrick R.C. Church in Noblestown.  He preceded her in death on February 11, 1994.

Surviving are two sons, Carl L. (Janet) Zeno, Jr. of Bulger and John M. (Stacy) Zeno of McDonald; two sisters, Dora Corris of Sturgeon amd Olga Plunkett of Greentree; a brother, Edward A. Rusciolelli Sr. of McDonald; two grandchildren, Christina Zeno and Marc Zeno; and two step grandchildren, Cindy Mason and Jennifer Brositz.

Deceased is a son, James E. Zeno, who was her caregiver for 10 years following her husband’s death.

Friends will be received from 2-4 and from 6-8 p.m. on Friday at Nation Funeral Home, Inc., 220 E. Lincoln Ave., McDonald, where a Blessing Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, October 6 with Rev. Gary Oehmler, pastor of St. Alphonsus R.C. Church, McDonald, officiating.  Burial will follow in Center Cemetery, Midway.  As Mrs. Zeno was a breast cancer survivor, memorials are requested to Susan G. Komen for the Cure Pittsburgh, 1133 S.
