Odessa L. (Fye) Montgomery

Odessa Lois Montgomery, 95, of McDonald, died Saturday, November 7, 2015 at Donnell House of Washington.

She was born October 10, 1920 in Allegheny County, a daughter of the late Charles Oliver and Maude Glendora (Say) Fye.

Mrs. Montgomery was a homemaker and enjoyed nurturing and taking care of people throughout her life.

She was a former member of Order of the Eastern Star, a member of Hickory United E.P.C., and a former Gray Lady at Canonsburg Hospital.

Mrs. Montgomery enjoyed music, dancing, singing, search-a-word puzzles and coloring. She enjoyed trips in the car and time spent with her family, grandchildren and Tinker her dog.

On March 18, 1939, she married Edward Hiett "Doc" Montgomery, who died July 10, 1999.

Surviving are three daughters, Betty Marie Scott of Greenock, Carole L. (Roger) Turk of McDonald, and Linda N. Amic of Bulger; seven grandchildren, James E. Scott, Tracy Peace, Roger J. Turk, Lori Ann (Scott) Painter, Michael (Rhonda) Turk, Michele R. Amic, and Charles J. (Heather) Amic IV.; twelve great grandchildren, James and Melissa Peace, Bryce, Gracie and MacKenzie Turk, Zachary and Ryan Painter, Nathan and Madison Turk, Garrett Willis, Cody Slinkard and Tyler Slinkard; and four great great grandchildren, Anne Marie, Jamie L. and Clayton J. Peace, and Crissalee Wright.

Deceased are four brothers, Merle, Kenneth, Vonley and Gerald Fye; and seven sisters, Mae Speer, Freda Gibb, Elma Kretzler, Savilla Trowbridge, Dora Swoger, Vera Burns, Shirley Rupert and Maude Fye.

A memorial service will be held Saturday November 21, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. in Hickory United E.P.C., Hickory with Rev.
