Naomi R. (Jackson) Brockman

January 2, 1927 — March 24, 2014

Naomi R. Brockman, 87, of McDonald, passed away peacefully on March 24, 2014, at McMurray Hills Manor, SNF after a 1 year illness.

She was born on January 2, 1927 in McDonald, a daughter of the late William Jackson and Ruth (Roy) Oates.

On April 11, 1947, she married Clarence H. "Brock" Brockman who survives.

Mrs. Brockman was a 1944 graduate of McDonald High school and worked for Bell Telephone after high school graduation; she spent July 1944-July 1945 in Wilmington, DE as an overseas telephone operator. When WWII was over she came back to McDonald where she worked as a telep0hone operator for Bell Telephone at the William Penn Hotel, St. Clair Hospital and then Duquesne Light where she retired in 2001 as a bookkeeper in the Treasury Department.

Mrs. Brockman and her husband enjoyed traveling; they traveled to Europe on several occasions, all over America and the Caribbean but mostly enjoyed taking cruises.

Mrs. Brockman was very active in the 80th Division Veterans Association National Ladies Auxiliary. She served as National President twice. She also served as President for the Pennsylvania Auxiliary No 1, an 80th Post in Pittsburgh.

She was a member of IBEW, Pittsburgh Chapter and a lifetime member of McDonald Presbyterian Church.

Along with her husband, she is survived by a son, James (Lynn) Brockman and a daughter, Barbara B. Brockman, both of McDonald; A granddaughter, Jennifer Brockman (fiancé Rob Guidice, Jr.) of Beaver Falls,; A cousin a Robert (Lois) Meute, of IL; Three nephews, Scott (Carol) Albertini, of McDonald, John (Kay) Covode, of NC and Robert (Tish) Covode, of OH;  Nine great nieces and nephews and Seven great-great nieces and nephews and her beloved dog, Beni.

Deceased is a sister Lois (Carl) Albertini and a niece, Mary (Covode) Berry.

Family will receive friends, on Thursday, March 27, 2014 from 10 AM – Noon, the time of service with Pastor Justin Amsler officiating. Interment will follow in the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies Bridgeville, PA. In lieu of flowers family suggest memorial donations be made to McDonald Youth Ministries (MYM) McDonald Presbyterian Church, 119 Station Street, McDonald, PA 15057
