Mildred (Hook) Dhanse

Mildred Dhanse, 90, of Canonsburg, formerly of McDonald, died Thursday, May 11, 2017 at Asbury Heights of Mt. Lebanon.
She was born July 14, 1926 in Burgettstown, a daughter of the late Jacob and Frances (Pickolic) Hook.
Mrs. Dhanse worked as a secretary for Pella Window and Door until she retired in 1958.
She was a member of the McDonald American Legion Post #485 Ladies Auxiliary and a member of the Canonsburg Senior Citizens.
On June 1, 1946, she married Earl "Gumps" Dhanse who died on September 29, 2010.
Surviving are two sons, E. David (Theresa) Dhanse of Canonsburg, and Daniel “Decon” (Linda) Dhanse of McDonald.
Deceased are seven sisters, Helen Gibson, Charlotte Burtis, Vera DeBlander, Agnes Colley, Frances Hospodar, Angela “Nellie” McGreevey and Leona Schimek.
Friends will be received at Nation Funeral Home, Inc., 220 E. Lincoln Ave., McDonald, on Monday, May 15, 2017 from 10:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m., the time of services. At that time a Blessing Service will be conducted by Rev. Ben Vaghetto, pastor of St. Alphonsus R.C. Church, McDonald. Burial will follow in Robinson Run Cemetery, McDonald. The family suggests memorial contributions be made to American Legion Post #485, 221 East Lincoln Avenue, McDonald, PA 15057.
