Michael Richard Prebeg

Michael Richard Prebeg, 64, of Midway, died Saturday, October 29, 2011 in Canonsburg Hospital.

He was born July 6, 1947 in Canonsburg, the son of Evelyn (Campbell) Prebeg of McDonald and the late Michael Prebeg.

Mr. Prebeg was a 1965 graduate of Fort Cherry High School and served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War.

He worked as a supervisor in construction, having worked for both Ryan Homes and for the PA Conservation Corps.

Mr. Prebeg was an avid hunter and fisherman and loved reading and sports. He was a member of the Midway S.N.P.J. Lodge, a member of the Midway and McDonald V.F.W. Posts, a member of the McDonald American Legion Post and a member of the Sinnemahoning Sportsman’s Club.

Surviving in addition to his mother are two daughters, Melanie Prebeg Cooley of Columbus, OH and Marcy Prebeg of Cincinnati, OH; a sister, Marilee (Daniel) Hallam of Midway; three grandchildren, Sydney & McKenzie Cooley and Maxwell Prebeg; three nieces and nephews, Dana (Michael) Shuble, Daniel E. Hallam, Jr. and Sarah (Vern) Smith; and numerous great nieces and nephews.

Friends will be received from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Nation Funeral Home, Inc., 220 East Lincoln Ave., McDonald, where services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, November 2. Burial will follow in Center Cemetery, Midway. The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the S.N.P.J. Scholarship Fund.
