Mary Etta Snyder, of Hudson OH, died peacefully at the Cleveland Clinic - Justin T. Rodgers Care Facility, of Akron, OH on May 8, 2024.

Mary lived in Hudson, OH for 4.5 years at the Hudson Grande Assisted Living Facility. However, her lifetime home was in Cherry Valley, McDonald, PA for over 64 years.

She was born, September 23, 1929, In Williamsburg, OH; a daughter of John and Francis Clark. Mary was raised on a farm along with her two brothers John Clark, (deceased) and Jim Clark, of Williamsburg, OH. Mary was a registered nurse and graduated from the Jewish Hospital, of Cincinnati, Ohio in 1951.

She married the love of her life, Joseph W. Snyder on November 20th, 1952, just as he was entering the U.S. Army, during the Korean War and she followed along with him working at the US Army Hospital of Aberdeen Proving Grounds in Maryland.

When Joe was discharged, they moved to his hometown of Pittsburgh, PA. Mary worked as a Supervisor at John Kane Hospital until she retired.

Mary is survived by two sons, Rick, (Carla), of Hudson, OH and Jim, (Carrie), of New Castle, CO. and five grandchildren, Jessica (Justin) Rasmussen, Hudson, OH, Justin (Sara) and Corey (Lyndsey) Snyder of Hudson, OH and Jake Snyder, Glenwood Springs, CO and Josh Snyder, Aspen, CO.

Mary also had six great grandchildren, Kyley, Emma, Charlie, Kelsey and Jack Snyder and Maren Rasmussen all of Hudson, OH.

She was a member of the Hickory, UEP Church and served as deaconess, Sunday, and Bible School teacher for many years. Mary belonged to many craft clubs over the years and her most recent favorite group, the McDonald Quilters, made her lifelong friends, along with many beautiful hand stitched quilts. Mary loved her gardens and flowers, and always fed birds, deer, turkeys, raccoons, and all animals who happened to come by.

Family will receive friends on Wednesday, May 15, 2024, from 9:30 –11:30 AM at Graff-Nation Funeral and Cremation Service LLC; services will take place immediately following visitation on Wednesday at 11:30. She will be buried at the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies with her husband Joe.
