Mary Margaret (Schiller) Dewey

April 1, 1927 — October 26, 2016

Mary Margaret Dewey, 89, of Midway, died Wednesday, October 26, 2016 at her home.

She was born April 1, 1927, the daughter of the late Oscar and Loretta M. (Aites) Schiller. Following the tragic death of her father, her mother married Arthur A. Keeley.

Mrs. Dewey was a nurse’s aide at John J. Kane Hospital for 19 years and retired in August of 1987.

She was a member of the Allegheny County Retirement Association.

Mrs. Dewey loved camping and her dogs.

On December 30, 1964, she married Dennis D. Dewey, who died August 12, 2010.

Surviving are three sons, Jeffrey Openbrier of Midway, Mark (Debra) Openbrier of Oakdale and Kenneth Openbrier of Midway; two daughters, Robin Russo and Darlene (Joe) Schultz, both of Midway; two brothers, Timothy Keeley of South Hills and James Keeley of Crafton; 13 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren.

Deceased are a daughter, Margaret “Peg” Claire; and five brothers, Arthur Keeley, Raymond Schiller, Ronald Schiller, Donald Schiller and Terrence Keeley.

Friends will be received at Nation Funeral Home, Inc., 220 E. Lincoln Ave., McDonald from 2 – 4 and from 6 – 8 p.m. the time of services on Friday, October 28, 2016, with Rev. Bob Staszewski, pastor of St. Ann R.C. Church, Bulger, officiating. Committal will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Monday, October 31st at the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies, Bridgeville. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made to a charity of one’s choice.
