Martha “Marty” Masquelier, 78, of McDonald, died Wednesday, October 5, 2011 at her home.

She was born April 17, 1933 in Bavington, a daughter of the late James Frederick and Celestine (DeCook) Moore.

Mrs. Masquelier was a graduate of Burgettstown High School and was a devoted wife and mother.

She was a member of Iron’s Memorial Presbyterian Church, McDonald, where she had served as an Elder and as a Sunday School teacher.  She was a member of the McDonald Women’s Club and loved to garden, read and spend time with her family.

On December 18, 1953, she married Frank Jules Masquelier, who survives.

Also surviving are two sons, Russell W. Masquelier of Burgettstown and Dale R. (Janene) Masquelier of McDonald; a daughter, Jill M. (George) Bordo of Coraopolis; a sister, Maxine Bickel of Mt. Lebanon; three brothers, James Moore of Baldwin, Richard Moore and Terry Moore, both of Bavington; and seven grandchildren, Neil, Cydnee, Kaitlyn and Travis Masquelier, Braden, Jarrett and Cassidy Bordo.

Deceased are a son, James Gregory Masquelier and a brother, William Moore.

Friends will be received from 6-8 pm Thursday and from 2-4 and from 7-9 pm Friday at Nation Funeral Home, Inc., 220 East Lincoln Ave., McDonald.  Services will be held at 11:00 am Saturday, October 8 at Iron’s Memorial Presbyterian Church, McDonald, with Rev. Charlie Puff, officiating.  Burial will follow in Raccoon Cemetery, Bulger.  The family suggests memorial contributions be made to Bethany Hospice, 6 Parkway Center Suite 100, 875 Greentree Road, Pittsburgh, PA 15220.  Online condolences, photos and additional information are available at www.nationfuneralhome.com.
