Louise (Hemke) Taraba

November 18, 1929 — February 4, 2016

Louise Taraba, 86, of Oakdale died Thursday, February 4, 2016 at Allegheny General Hospital of Pittsburgh.

She was born November 18, 1929 in Pittsburgh, a daughter of the late Charles and Marie (Schaefle) Hemke.

Mrs. Taraba was a homemaker and a member of St. Patrick R.C. Church, Noblestown.

She enjoyed the outdoors and liked going to flea markets and farmer’s markets. She liked Bingo, Nascar racing, Kenny Rogers, baseball and Steeler’s games. She always would put herself out for others and loved helping and talking to people.

Mrs. Taraba’s husband, Frank J. Taraba died June 7, 1999.

Surviving are three sons, Frank Taraba and Thomas Taraba, both of Oakdale, and Joseph M. Taraba of Bulger; a brother, David (Mary) Hemke of McDonald; and three grandchildren, Stephanie, Terrance and Thomas Taraba.

Deceased are two brothers, Charles and Walter Hemke; and three sisters, Virginia, Elsie and Ann.

Friends will be received from 2 – 4 and from 6 – 8 p.m. Monday at Nation Funeral Home, Inc., 220 E. Lincoln Ave., McDonald, where a Blessing Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, February 9, 2016 with Rev. Ben Vaghetto, pastor of St. Patrick R.C. Church, Noblestown, officiating.
