Loraine Skarupa

Loraine Skarupa, age 91, of McDonald, passed Thursday, July 25, 2024, surrounded by her loving family.

She was born September 11, 1932; a daughter of Frank and Pauline Lesko Hallam.

Loraine was a graduate of McDonald High School class of 1951; where she was a majorette and a guard on the basketball team.

On April 14, 1952, she married, Stephen J. Skarupa Jr, with whom she recently celebrated 72 years of marriage.

Loraine was a devoted wife and the best mother and grandmother that her children and grandchildren could ask for. She enjoyed traveling, camping with family and friends, baking beautiful pies, making homemade pierogis, and preparing delicious family meals. Loraine had a great sense of humor, loved to laugh, and had a great wit. Her family will long remember her one-liners.

Surviving are three daughters, Paula (Greg) Linenfelser of Eighty Four, Ellen (Rick Ghilani) Fehl of Monongahela, and Karen (Russ) Dysert of Bulger; a daughter-in-law, Sandy Skarupa of Imperial; 10 grandchildren, Lauren, Alan, and Devin Joseph, Jill McDaniel, Dawn Hay, Hayley Parks, Morgan and Zachary Dysert, Steve Skarupa, IV, and Dorothy Grimes, along with 10 great-grandchildren.

Deceased are two sons, Stephen J. Skarupa III and Jeffrey R. Skarupa; two brothers, Clyde and Bobby Hallam; a sister Thelma Campbell; and a son-in-law, Tim Fehl. Loraine was the last of her immediate family.

Loraine will be deeply missed and loved forever by her husband Steve and the family she leaves behind to cherish her memory.

Family will receive friends on Monday, July 29 from 2–4 and 6–8PM at Graff – Nation Funeral and Cremation Service LLC, 220 E. Lincoln Ave. McDonald PA 15057; where services will take place on Tuesday, July 30, 2023 at 11AM. with pastor Patrick Keeley officiating. Interment will follow at Robinson Run Cemetery. Memorial contributions are suggested to Venice Presbyterian Church, 3694 Millers Run Rd. McDonald, PA 15057.
