Lois G. (Thornburg) Smith

Lois G. Smith, 94, of McDonald died Thursday, June 25, 2015 at St. Clair Memorial Hospital, Mt. Lebanon.
She was born March 17, 1921 in Burgettstown, the daughter of the late Leroy and Catherine (Clair) Thornburg.
Mrs. Smith graduated from Burgettstown High School in 1939. She worked as a secretary for Pennsylvania American Water Company when it was the West Penn Water Company. She retired in 1980 after 30 years of service.
She was a member of McDonald Presbyterian Church. She was often seen sitting outside her home watching youth football and youth baseball at Heritage Park in McDonald. She loved dancing and enjoyed watching Pirate and Penguin games.
On December 12, 1942, she married William M. "Bill" Smith, who died on June 23, 1991.
Surviving are several nephews and cousins.
Deceased are a sister, Grace Hunt; and a niece, Katie Lindsey.
Friends will be received from 11 a.m. – 3 p.m. and from 6 – 8 p.m. Sunday at Nation Funeral Home, Inc., 220 E. Lincoln Ave., McDonald, where services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, June 29, 2015 with Rev. Justin Amsler, pastor of McDonald Presbyterian Church, officiating. Burial will follow at Robinson Run Cemetery, McDonald. Memorial contributions are suggested to McDonald Presbyterian Church, 119 Station St., McDonald, PA 15057.
