Leroy H. Bennett

Leroy H. Bennett, 83, of Midway, passed away peacefully on Monday, May 1, 2017.
He was born in Avella, PA on July 31, 1933. He is the son of the late Frank and Snova Bennett.
Mr. Bennett retired from the Climax Molybdenum Company in Langeloth, PA, many years ago.
He was a Jehovah’s Witness his entire adult life, and enjoyed preaching from door to door throughout his neighborhood. Mr. Bennett was a great, kind hearted man, who loved his family and friends. He had the patience of a Saint, and saw the good in everyone.
He graduated from Burgettstown High School in 1951, where he was a star athlete. He was drafted into the Army in 1953, and served in Korea, attaining the ranking of a Corporal.
He is survived by his four children, Bruce Bennett of New Kensington, Brian Bennett of Midway, Beth Carter of Wilmington, Delaware, and Barbie Bennett of New Castle, Delaware; and a brother, Joseph Bennett of McDonald. He has five grandchildren and a great grandson. Mr. Bennett has many nieces, nephews, and lots of great friends who will miss him dearly.
Family will receive friends on Saturday May 6 from 11 am – 1 pm at Nation Funeral Home, 220 E. Lincoln Ave., McDonald, PA 15057 where services will be held at 1pm. The family will hold a private burial at the Grandview Cemetery in Florence, PA at a later date.
