Joseph Walter Snyder

Joseph Walter Snyder, 84, of McDonald, Mt. Pleasant Twp. died, Sunday, February 14, 2016 surrounded by his family.
He was born September 5, 1931 in Presto, a son of the late Joseph Allen and Stella Sulecki Snyder.
On November 20, 1952, 63 years ago, he married Mary E. Clark, who survives.
Mr. Snyder was a Korean War Vet where he served in the United States Army. He then worked as a heavy equipment operator out of the Operating Engineers Union for over 30 years. He then became an independent owner/operator as a truck driver for 10 years. He then worked for Pangerst Coal for a few years where he retired in 1994.
Surviving in addition to his wife are two sons, Rick (Carla) Snyder of Hudson, OH and Jim Snyder of Aspen, CO; a sister, Catherine McConnell of Houston, PA; a niece Donna (Jim) Himmelwright of Houston, PA; five grandchildren Jessica Rasmussen, Justin, Corey, Jacob and Joshua Snyder and two great grandchildren, Kyley and Emma Snyder.
Family will receive friends Tuesday, February 16, 2016 from 5-8 p.m. at Nation Funeral Home Inc., 220 E. Lincoln Ave., McDonald, PA 15057 where services will be held Wednesday, February 17, 2016 at 10:00 a.m.. Interment will follow in the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies.
