John A. Herbst, 95, of McDonald, Mt. Pleasant Township, died Sunday, May 6, 2018.
He was born March 26, 1923 in Robinson Township, a son of Albert and Clara (Berbach) Herbst.
Mr. Herbst served in the United States Army during WWII. He then became a dairy farmer.
He enjoyed fishing and working on vehicles.
On April 19, 1975, he married Marcella P. Navadauskas, who died January 14, 2014.
Surviving is a sister, Clara Mihalics of McDonald; two step-children; several nieces and nephews; and great nieces and nephews.
Deceased are two brothers Walter and Thomas Herbst; and one step child.
Family will receive friends Thursday, May 10, 2018 from 2-4 and 6-8 pm at Nation Funeral Home Inc., 220 E. Lincoln Ave., McDonald. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday, May 11, 2018 at 10:00 am in St Alphonsus R.C. Church McDonald. Interment will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery, McKee’s Rocks. Memorial contributions are suggested to St. Alphonsus R.C. Church, 219 W. Lincoln Ave., McDonald, PA 15057.
