John Joseph Baldigowski

John Joseph Baldigowski, 99, of McDonald, Robinson Twp., died, Thursday, November 14, 2013.

He was born November 12, 1914 in Sturgeon, a son of the late John and Rose (Krysik) Baldigowski.

Mr. Baldigowski worked his entire life as a Coal Miner for Consolidated Coal, before retiring in 1966.  He worked at both the # 9 Mine and the Montour #4 mine.

He was a member of the U.M.W.A., St. Alphonsus R.C. Church, McDonald and the church’s Holy Name Society.

In February of 1935 he married Genevieve Zombeck who died April 6, 1964. In January of 1980 he married Mary Maglich who died May 15, 2003.

Surviving are five sons, John (Linda) Baldigowski, Eugene Baldigowski and Michael Baldigowski, all of McDonald, Carl (Gloria) Baldigowski of Midway, and Daniel Baldigowski of Canonsburg; seven daughters, Josephine (late Robert) Grutzik of Dover, DE, Helen (Richard) Daniels, Veronica (Carl) Daniels, Susan Cobb and Rose (Late Bill) Haines, all of McDonald, Bonnie (Richard) Green of Virginia Beach, VA and Diana (Ronald) Chauvet of Oakdale; two sisters, Ann Vincenti of Moon Twp. and Elizabeth Poznak of McDonald; 26 Grandchildren and 36 Great Grandchildren.

Deceased are four brothers Ernest, Francis, Joseph and Paul; and three sisters, Mary Powlikoski, Martha Miller and Clara Harouse.

Friends will be received Saturday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Sunday from 1 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at Nation Funeral Home Inc. 220 E. Lincoln Ave McDonald. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Monday, November 18, 2013 at St. Alphonsus R.C. Church, McDonald. Interment will follow in Resurrection Cemetery, Moon Twp.
