Jennifer Lynn Kies, 66, of McDonald died Wednesday, November 26, 2014 at her home.
She was born July 28, 1948 in Washington, the daughter of the late Claire and Mary (Williams) Cowden.
Mrs. Kies was a graduate of Fort Cherry High School, earned a Bachelor of Science from Muskingum College and a Master degree in Social Work at California University of PA.
She worked as a Counselor for 30 years at various locations before retiring in 2011.
Mrs. Kies was a member of McDonald V.F.W. Post 567 Ladies’ Auxiliary and a friend of Bill W. She loved the farm, the outdoors and time she was able to spend with her family.
On May 27, 1988 she married Roger Lee Kies, who survives.
Also surviving are a daughter, Annie (Aiden) Farrar-Faust of Baltimore, MD; three brothers, James C. Cowden of Bulger, Thomas Cowden of Claysville and David Cowden of Mocksville, NC.
Deceased is a son, Thomas Shaw Farrar.
Friends will be received from 5 – 8 p.m. Sunday at Nation Funeral Home, Inc., 220 E. Lincoln Ave., McDonald, where services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Monday, December 1 with Lay Pastor Lou Templeton of Mt. Prospect Presbyterian Church officiating. Burial will follow in National Cemetery Of The Alleghenies, Bridgeville.
