Jeanne Marie Hurley

Jeanne Marie Hurley, age 60, of Hickory, PA, passed away on Monday, October 17, 2022. She passed peacefully, after battling breast cancer, with her family by her side.

Jeanne was born on December 4, 1961 in Norfolk, VA; a daughter of William and Mary C. Shackelford Hrynda, both of Pittsburgh, PA.

Jeanne was a graduate of Lawrenceville Catholic High School. She was employed by the Hollywood Casino at the Meadows, as a dealer, for over 12 years.

On March 31, 1988 she married William E. Hurley, who survives.

Jeanne enjoyed traveling with her husband, waving her Terrible Towel as she watched her Steelers, but her true love was spending time with her family.

She was a loving wife, dedicated to being there for her family. She loved going to the beach, watching the Steelers, and spending time with her boys.

She never missed an opportunity to capture the moment with a picture. If you knew Jeanne, then you have a story with her. She lived her life as an adventure, with a kindness and brashness rarely seen today. She danced through life with a laugh and a smile that lit up whichever room she was in. She had her own kind of grace, and it was amazing.

Jeanne made a path of her own and lived life on her terms. If you weren't on her team she didn't have time for you. She didn't apologize for who she was or how she lived her life. Above all else she loved with a fierce yet kindling fire that brought warmth to our hearts, where she now resides.

She fought and battled Cancer, and beat it and won, time and time again. She made the most of the time she was given, and through it all, never faltered in her duties as a mother, sister, daughter, friend, and Christian. She taught her family what faith in God meant and taught them how to love.

Jeanne did the most with the time she was given. She loved working with her friends at the Meadows Casino and going out dancing. She loved to ride on the back of her husband's Harley, no matter where the adventure took them. They were thick as thieves and always remained true to each other, and still do.

Surviving are two sons, Nicholas and Alexander Hurley both of Pittsburgh, PA; two brothers Jeff Hrynda of Seneca, SC; and Bret Hrynda of Pittsburgh, PA; and a sister Donna Mascilli of Pittsburgh, PA.

She will be missed by many who loved her and will live on in the memories and stories we share.
