Henrietta Lou Anna Walker, a beloved educator and cherished friend to many, passed away on February 20, 2025, at the age of 75. Born on April 9, 1949, in Canonsburg; a daughter of Paul and Ruth Cauchie Walker, she dedicated her life to shaping young minds through her extensive teaching career. For over 40 years, she served as a teacher in the Weirton, Hancock County school district, where her passion for education and commitment to her students earned her the respect and admiration of colleagues, parents, and generations of students.
Henrietta’s academic pursuits began at Fort Cherry High School, where she laid the foundation for her future endeavors. She then earned her teaching degree from Shippensburg State College and continued her education, obtaining a Master’s in Library Sciences from West Virginia University. This commitment to lifelong learning was reflected not only in her career but also in the way she inspired others to value education.
In addition to her professional accomplishments, Henrietta was an active member of her community. She was instrumental in her faith journey, being a devoted member of Iron's Memorial Church in McDonald and Christians Gathered unto the Lord Church in Pittsburgh. Her deep-rooted beliefs guided her interactions and relationships, demonstrating her unwavering kindness and support to those around her.
Henrietta is survived by several cousins who will remember her with fondness and gratitude. She was preceded in death by her beloved sister, Hope E. Walker, with whom she shared a close bond and lived for many years, a testament to the love and devotion that characterized her family ties and her beloved dog that she cherished.
Visitation will be held at Graff-Nation Funeral and Cremation Services in McDonald, Pennsylvania, on February 25, 2025, from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM, followed by a funeral service at the same location from 1:00 PM.
