Gloria J. (Hancock) Holmes

Gloria J. Holmes, 91, of McDonald, died Friday, April 10, 2015 at Donnell House of Washington.
She was born March 20, 1924 in Sturgeon, the daughter of the late Clyde and Sylvia (Best) Hancock.
Mrs. Holmes was a homemaker.
She was a member of Montours Presbyterian Church. She enjoyed puzzles and word searches and loved to bake. She was an avid black and gold fan and a fan of any Pittsburgh sports team.
On October 6, 1952, she married Fred W. Holmes Sr., who died January 3, 1997.
Surviving are a daughter, Sharon (the late Ed) Campbell of Bulger; a son, Gordon (Suzan) Holmes of Southview; a step son, Fred W. Holmes, Jr. of Butler; a step daughter, LaVerne Kemmerer of Telford; four grandchildren, Angie Shaffer, Brant Campbell, Brad Holmes and Heather Holmes; seven great grandchildren, Matthew and Brianne Shaffer, Allie and Makenzie Campbell, Brianna, Kaylee and Tanner Holmes.
Deceased is a step son, Robert Holmes.
Friends will be received from 2 – 4 and from 7 – 9 p.m. Sunday, at Nation Funeral Home, Inc., 220 E. Lincoln Ave., McDonald, where services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Monday, April 13 with Rev. Jim Evans, pastor of Montours Presbyterian Church, officiating. Burial will follow in Center Cemetery, Midway. The family suggests memorial contributions be made to Washington Health System Foundation, 155 Wilson Avenue, Washington, PA 15301.
