Gerald "Jerry" E. Miller

Gerald E. “Jerry” Miller, 92, of Midway, died peacefully at home on Friday, December 30, 2016.

He was born July 30, 1924 in Muse, a son of Clarence Miller and Benjamina Ackerman McCabe.

Mr. Miller was a member of Center U.P. Church, Midway, where he served as an elder, trustee, Sunday school teacher and a member of the choir. He was also a member of Richard Vaux Lodge #454 F.&A.M. in Burgettstown for over 50 years.

In 1983 Mr. Miller retired from Weirton Steel in Weirton, WV where he was a bricklayer for 36 years.

Mr. Miller loved playing bingo and golfing. He had two hole in one’s which he was very proud of.

On January 31, 1947 he married Vera Felton, who survives.

Also surviving are a daughter Susan (Jeffrey) Ryan of Clinton; two granddaughters, Stephanie (Ryan Davies) Ryan of Imperial and Jessica (Brenen) LaGard of Hookstown; two great grandsons, Trig and Luke LaGard; as well as several nieces and nephews.

Deceased are a sister Louise Gallo Segui; a brother, Wells Miller; a neice and three nephews.

Family will receive friends from 1-8 p.m. Tuesday, January 3, 2017 at Nation Funeral Home Inc., 220 E. Lincoln Ave., McDonald. Services will take place Wednesday, January 4, 2017 at Center U.P. Church, Midway. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Center U.P. Church, PO Box 563, Midway, PA. 15060.
