Geraldine Florence Tropeck Gevenosky, beloved mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully on March 22 , 2025 at the age of 97 with her family by her side. She was born in Sturgeon, Pa on October 10, 1927, and graduated from North Fayette High School. Gerry had worked at several jobs throughout her lifetime. She was a clerk at Carnegie A & P, Bells Clover Farm, and the 5 & 10 in McDonald. She also worked at Stylette Plastics in Oakdale. Her final job was at St. Clair Hospital in housekeeping for 11 years where she retired. She also worked at the voting polls for many years in Allegheny County.

Gerry was a dedicated Pittsburgh fan and enjoyed watching the Steelers, Pirates, and Penguins. She absolutely loved Bingo and enjoyed reading magazines about the movie stars. One of her favorite holidays was Halloween, she never missed an opportunity to get dressed up and enjoyed participating in the McDonald parade. She was a country music listener and enjoyed listening and dancing to polka music. She had a love for sweets and pastries and was a great pie maker. In her younger years she enjoyed traveling and would go on an adventure in a moment’s notice with friends and family. She was a member of the Blue Army and volunteered with cleaning the church and a Bingo worker.

Gerry was born to James and Sophie Tropeck. She had nine brothers and sisters all of which are deceased. She was the youngest of all 10. They included Ann Lukasiewicz, Sophie Rubel, Nell Pivovar, Helen Hampson, Fran Kravec, Mary Kulak, John, James and Donald Tropeck. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Walter Gevenosky, Jr who served in the Koren War. Gerry leaves behind three children, Patty Apel, husband Don, Shirley Allison, husband Bill and Tom Gevenosky, and wife Lorry. Also, two grandchildren, Jennifer and Jessica Allison, significant other, Bobby Gilbert, and three great grandchildren, Faith Parker, Christian Parker and Josalyn Allison. There are numerous other nieces and nephews who she loved dearly especially her God Child, Carol Homanics. She was known to them as “Aunt Babe”. Gerry will be deeply missed by family and friends. May her memory bring comfort to all who were fortunate enough to share in her life.

Visitation for family and friends will take place on Tuesday, March 25, 2025 from 10:00-12:00pm at Graff-Nation funeral and cremation Service LLC 220 E. Lincoln Ave McDonald, PA. 15057. A mass of Christian Burial will take place at 12:00PM at St. Isidore the farmer Parish, St. Alphonsus worship site. Interment will follow at Robinson Run Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, please donate to McDonald Fire Department, Cecil Community Center or St. Alphonsus Catholic Church.
