Geraldine H. (Harvey) Cooper

Geraldine H. Cooper, 94, of McDonald died Friday, July 2, 2021 at Donnell House of Washington.

She was born September 21, 1926 in Penowa; the daughter of the late Peter A. and Freda (Underwood) Harvey.

Mrs. Cooper worked as a clerk for Hills and Ames Department Stores.

She was a lifetime member of Iron’s Memorial Presbyterian Church, McDonald. She was a lifetime member and Past Worthy Matron of the McDonald Chapter of the Order of Eastern Star.

Mrs. Cooper enjoyed reading, crossword puzzles, gambling & spending time with family.

On March 15, 1947 she married William Robert Cooper, who survives.

Also surviving are a daughter, Phyllis (Michael) Newton of McDonald; two sons, Michael (Barbara) Cooper of Midway and David (Joyce) Cooper of Greentree; a daughter-in-law, Bonnie Cooper of Oakdale; a sister, Catherine Rosemeier of Cokeburg; three grandchildren, Michaele (Michael) Kennedy, Jennifer (Ryan) Caldwell and Michael Newton, Jr.; four great grandchildren, Rylie Kennedy, Mason, Scarlett and Ryan Caldwell; an aunt, Josephine Fragapane of Los Angeles, CA; and numerous cousins, nieces & nephews.

Deceased are a son, William R. “Butch” Cooper II; a daughter, Nita Louise Cooper; and a brother, Charles D. Harvey.

Friends will be received from 6-8 pm Tuesday and from 2-4 and from 6-8 pm Wednesday at Nation Funeral Home, Inc., 220 E. Lincoln Ave., McDonald where services will be held at 10:00 am Thursday, July 8, 2021 with Rev. Justin Amsler officiating. Burial will follow in National Cemetery of the Alleghenies.
