GEORGE R. HERON

Two days shy of his 93rd birthday, of Washington, PA, formerly of Midway, PA, on Tuesday morning, June 2, 2015.  Beloved husband of 66 years to the late Mary M. (Mullooly) Heron, who passed March 8, 2015.  Beloved father of Raymond Heron and wife, Pamela, of Charlottesville, VA, Colleen DuPre and husband, William, of Raleigh, NC, Kathleen Herbst and husband, Edward, of Fredericktown and George Howard Heron and wife, Berni, of Hickory; cherished grandfather of eight; adored great-grandfather of five; preceded in death by a brother, Archie Heron and his wife, Dorothy, who survives.  George was a member of St. Alphonsus R.C. Church, retired from the US Postal Service with 30 years service at the Greater Pgh. Airport, served his country in the US Navy during WWII, a member of the US Submarine Veterans of WWII, a member of the Oakdale VFW and the American Legion.  Family to receive friends at the NATION FUNERAL HOME, INC., 220 E. Lincoln Ave., McDonald, on Sunday, June 7, 2015, between the hours of 2-8 p.m.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, June 8, 2015, at 9 a.m. in St. Alphonsus R.C. Church, McDonald, followed by interment with military honors in the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies.  It is respectfully requested memorial donations be sent to National Multiple Sclerosis Society at web address:  http://main.nationalmssociety.org/site/TR? or www.volunteer.va.gov .
