Francis J. “Frank” Soubie, 70, of McDonald, died Monday, January 30, 2012 in Mercy Hospital of Pittsburgh.
He was born April 30, 1941 in McDonald, a son of the late Francis and Mary (Farinelli) Soubie.
Mr. Soubie was a 1960 graduate of West Allegheny High School.
He began working repairing Railcars for the local mills around 1964 and eventually became the proprietor of Soubie Railcar Service on Neville Island. After 34 years, he retired from repairing railcars and worked for a time at Super Kmart in Robinson Township until 2004.
He was a member of Chartiers Lodge #297 F. & A.M., Canonsburg. He enjoyed hunting and loved spending time with his family.
On July 17, 1962, he married Charlotte A. Markovich, who survives.
Also surviving are three children, Alayna (David) Stiffler of Locust Grove, VA, David W. (Joyce) Soubie of Oakdale and Michele Rae Soubie of McDonald; a brother, Ronald L. (Carole) Soubie of Conneaut Lake; a sister, Cheryl L. Soubie of McDonald; seven grandchildren, Keith (Missi) Oravetz, Brandon, Sara and Tyler Soubie, Carol, Ellyn and Sandra Stiffler; and two great grandchildren, Brodie and Bayleigh Oravetz.
Friends will be received 2-4 and 6-9 p.m. Wednesday at NATION FUNERAL HOME, 220 E. Lincoln Ave., McDonald, where services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thurs., Feb. 2 with Rev. Bill Burns, pastor of Church of the Living Christ, Burgettstown, officiating. Burial will follow in Robinson Run Cemetery, McDonald.
