Ernest Parkinson Hampson

Ernest Parkinson “Ernie” Hampson, 82, of McDonald died Tuesday, November 19, 2013 at Washington Hospital.

He was born April 6, 1931 in McDonald, a son of the late Samuel and Margaret (Parkinson) Hampson.

Mr. Hampson worked as a Brick Layer his entire life before retiring in 1997. He also worked for a time in maintenance at the former Joy Dog Food Plant in Oakdale.

He was a member of Noblestown Presbyterian Church and the McDonald Rod & Gun Club.

On November 14, 1950, he married Jean Ann Snatchko, who died on  March 18, 1998.

Surviving are two daughters, Cathy (Jeff) Denny of McDonald and Amy (Chris) Alevizatos of Baltimore, MD; a son, Ernie W. (Sandy) Hampson of McDonald;  a sister, Ann Wolfe of Oakdale; a brother, Merle Hampson of McDonald; ten grandchildren, Jennifer (Larry) Heirendt, Kimberly and Timothy Hampson, Erin (Brian Campbell), Jeffrey (Niki) and Jason Denny, Kayla, Braeden, Sarah and Ryan Alevizatos; and seven great grandchildren, Tanner, Grace and Nathan Heirendt, Mya Hampson, Trysten, Tayleigh and Teyrissa Denny, Jayson Denny and Ethan Campbell.

Deceased are a son, Samuel Hampson; two sisters, Goldie Brockman and Honey Kalucki; and two brothers, James and Robert Hampson.

Friends and family will gather at 12 p.m. Friday at Nation Funeral Home, Inc., 220 E. Lincoln Ave., McDonald, where a memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, Nov. 22 with Rev. Patricia Giles-Petrosky, pastor of Noblestown Presbyterian Church, officiating. Inurnment will follow in Robinson Run Cemetery, McDonald. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Heritage Public Library, 54 4th St., McDonald, PA 15057.
