Emma Diane (Carroll) Ward

Emma Diane Ward, 75, of McDonald died Thursday, September 02, 2021. She resided at Premier Health Care, Washington and died in Washington Hospital.

She was born February 13, 1946 in Pittsburgh, the daughter of the late Thomas A. and Blanche (DeBaker) Carroll.

Mrs. Ward was a 1965 graduate of Fort Cherry High School. She worked as a nurse’s aide at Woodville and Mayview state hospitals for eight years.

She was a member of the McDonald American Legion and V.F.W. Auxiliaries. She enjoyed playing Bingo and cards, Euchre being one of her favorites. She really loved spending time with her grandchildren and family.

On July 7, 1971 she married James H. Ward, who died December 1, 2016.

Surviving are a daughter, Lisa M. Ward of Langloth; two sons, Raymond E. Ward and Kenneth M. (Megan) Ward, both of McDonald; a brother, Gary Carroll of Green Valley, AZ; seven grandchildren, Jessica Faingnaert, Elizabeth Faingnaert, Billie Jo Strother, Kenneth James Ward, Blake Ward, Paige Ward and Raymond Edward Ward; and four great grandchildren, Deacon James Straffon, Jillian Sheldon, Armani Annesi and Grayson Ward.

Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and from 6 to 8 pm Saturday, September 4, 2021 at Nation Funeral Home, Inc., 220 E. Lincoln Ave., McDonald, where services will be held immediately following visitation at 8 pm. Memorial contributions are suggested to the McDonald Food Bank. She will be laid to rest with her husband at the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies, Bridgeville at a later date.
