Elizabeth M. Herbst 84, of McDonald, died, Sunday, May 11, 2014.
She was born June 11, 1929 in McKee’s Rocks, a daughter of Victor and Elizabeth Soissong Meyers.
Mrs. Herbst was a member of St. Alphonsus R.C. Church in McDonald where she served on the Altar Society and Ladies of Charity.
She loved Cooking and Baking, Word Search puzzles and cherished her Grandchildren.
On April 28, 1951 she married Thomas E. Herbst who died on August 25, 2001.
Surviving are two sons, Thomas A. (Pam) Herbst of Bethel, VT. and Joseph V. Herbst of McDonald; Three daughters, Virginia E. Herbst of McDonald, Margaret H. (George) Hess of McDonald and Mary B. (Ray) Durham of Winnfield, LA.; Seven Grandchildren Rebecca (Mike) Lamson, Bridgette (Jeff Tracy) Herbst, Thomas Herbst Jr., Neil (Gina) Hess, Heather (Rob) Kumpf, Heidi (Jeff) Jones and Steven (Tabitha) Durham; Five Great Grandchildren Justin Lamson, Logan Wright, Clyde Tracy, Tori Kumpf and Lois Durham.; One Brother, Albert Milbert of VA. and a sister, Mary Lou Davis of Brentwood.
Deceased is a sister Margaret Herbst and eight brothers, Joseph, Leonard, Victor, George, James and Charles Meyer and Jack and Richard Porta.
Family will receive friends Tuesday May 13, 2014 from 2-4pm and 6-8pm at Nation Funeral Home Inc. 220 E. Lincoln Ave. McDonald, PA. 15057. Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Wednesday May 14, 2014 at 10:00am in St. Alphonsus R.C. Church 219 W. Lincoln Ave. McDonald, PA. 15057. Entombment will follow in Queen of Heaven Cemetery. Memorial contributions are suggested to St. Alphonsus R.C. Church.
