Edward M. Panizza Sr.

Edward M. Panizza Sr. 89, formally of McDonald, died, Friday, May 9, 2014.

He was born July 15, 1924 in Bridgeville, a son of John and Josephine Sasso Panizza.

Mr. Panizza was a WWII veteran where he served in the United States Navy. Once discharged, he became a self-employed Soft Drink Distributor until he retired in 1990.

He was a member of St. Alphonsus R.C. Church in McDonald where he was a former choir member. He was also a member of the VFW in McDonald and the Italian Club in Bridgeville.

On November 14, 1951 he married Beatrice Marracino who died on December 19, 2010.

Surviving ia a daughter Mary (Jeffrey) Butler of Washington, PA.; Two sons, John E. Panizza of Downingtown, PA. and Paul A. (Jodie) Panizza of Midway, PA.; Five Grandchildren, Neil and Matthew Campbell, Jamie (Brandon) Hammond, Anthony Panizza and Jillian Panizza.; Three Great Grandchildren Alessia, Michael and Aveline Hammond; A brother Richard Panizza of Allegheny Co.

Deceased is a son Edward M. Panizza Jr. and a grandson James R. Campbell Jr.

Family will receive friends on Monday, May 12, 2014 from 7-9pm at Nation Funeral Home Inc. 218 E. Lincoln Ave. McDonald, PA 15057. A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Tuesday, May 13, 2014 at 10:00am in St. Alphonsus R.C. Church McDonald, PA. Interment will follow in Resurrection Cemetery. Family suggest memorial contributions be made to Navy Seal Foundation 1619 D. Street Virginia Beach, VA. 23459.
