Dorothy Marie (Masquelier) Vermeulen

Dorothy Marie Vermeulen, 89, of McDonald died Tuesday, January 26, 2016 at Allegheny General Hospital of Pittsburgh.

She was born June 13, 1926 in McDonald, the daughter of the late Julien A. and Sophia H. (Stemmler) Masquelier.

Ms. Vermeulen worked for Pittsburgh National Bank for 28 years, retiring as an Assistant Manager in 1988.

She was a member of McDonald Presbyterian Church.

Ms. Vermeulen enjoyed sewing, playing the piano and spending time with family.

Surviving are a daughter, Vicki (Bob) Zyra of McDonald; a grandson, Jeffrey Zyra of McDonald; a brother, Richard Masquelier of McDonald; a great-grandson, Michael Peyton Zyra; two nieces, Melissa (David) Mohon of Canonsburg and Cara (Chris) Lynch of Highland, MD; and two great nieces, Mallory and Hannah Mohon.

Friends will be received from 1 – 4 and from 6 – 8 p.m. Friday at Nation Funeral Home, Inc., 220 E. Lincoln Ave., McDonald, where services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday with Rev. Justin Amsler, pastor of McDonald Presbyterian Church, officiating. Burial will follow in Robinson Run Cemetery, McDonald. The family suggests memorials be made to McDonald Presbyterian Church, 119 Station Street, McDonald, PA 15057.
