February 24, 1925 — October 29, 2021

Dorothy "Dodo" Krehnovi, 96, of McDonald, died Friday, October 29, 2021, in Elmcroft of Bridgeville.

She was born February 24, 1925 in Ginger Hill, Pennsylvania, a daughter of the late Frederick and Mary (Dewald) Cook.

Mrs. Krehnovi worked at Viviano Macaroni Company (Vimcos) in the 1940s with her sisters Katherine and Viola. She later established her own beauty salon and retired from Tupperware some years afterward in McDonald.

On February 16, 1950, she married Edward Krehnovi, who passed away in 1982.

Also deceased are four sisters: Katherine Putt, Viola Chwala, Jean Libert, and Patricia Redhair; and four brothers: Henry, Fredrick Jr., Richard, and Robert Cook.

Surviving is a brother, Donald Cook of McDonald; several nieces and nephews; and great nieces and nephews. Although Dorothy and Eddie never had children of their own, Dorothy was very much like a mother, as she raised her two younger sisters, Patty and Jean, after their mother passed away at the age of 50.

Aside from her passion of cosmetology, Dorothy was a talented seamstress and sewed many clothes for friends and family. She knitted and crocheted and had a passion for painting. She traveled all over the country, made one trip to Ireland, and enjoyed a Caribbean Cruise. In retirement, she and her sisters enjoyed country rides, Sugar Creek, Amish Restaurants, and Rodgers, Ohio. Her favorite singer was Daniel (Danny) O’Donnell, her favorite song being “Oh Danny Boy”. Dorothy loved fried chicken, peanut butter meltaways, and her dog Maxi. Dorothy (Aunt Dodo) had a huge presence in her family and will be greatly missed by all, especially her dog Maxi.

Services are private and will be received at Nation Funeral Home, 220 E. Lincoln Ave., McDonald, from 10 AM to 11 AM Tuesday, November 2, 2021. Burial will follow in Robinson Run Cemetery, McDonald.
