Dolores Mae (Buncie) Cook

August 11, 1932 — January 12, 2017

Delores Mae Cook, 84, of McDonald, died Thursday, January 12, 2017 at Allegheny General Hospital of Pittsburgh.

She was born August 11, 1932 in Latrobe, a daughter of the late John Buncie and the late Esther Thomas (step father, Joseph) Cossack.

Mrs. Cook worked at Woodville State Hospital before she was a waitress at the Oakdale Diner.

She loved to play Bingo and enjoyed spending time at the Mountaineer and Meadows casinos. On several occasions, she went on casino bus trips to Connecticut, New Hampshire and other New England destinations. She also enjoyed camping her whole life.

On September 27, 1951, she married Richard L. Cook, who died January 17, 1982.

Surviving are a son, Richard Allen Cook of McDonald; a foster daughter, Michelle Artman of Pittsburgh; a son-in-law, Jerry Donaldson of McDonald; two sisters, Dorothy Buncie and Rose Dolfi, both of McDonald; a brother, Phillip (Mary) Cossack of Pittsburgh; four grandchildren, Richard Eric Cook, Brian Allen Cook, Kairy Lynn (Bill) Donaldson-Moss and LeAnn Marie (Damien) Heffern; and four great grandchildren, Cheyenne Marie Cook, Alyssa Robinson, Andrew Moss and Braydon Cook.

Deceased are a daughter, Vicki Marie "Sis" Donaldson; and a sister, Lavada Walker.

Friends will be received from 2 – 4 and from 6 – 8 p.m. Sunday at Nation Funeral Home, Inc., 220 E. Lincoln Ave., McDonald, where services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, January 16, 2017 with Rev. Pat Schaefer, pastor of Robinson Presbyterian Church, officiating.  Burial will follow in Robinson Run Cemetery, McDonald. Memorial contributions may be made on behalf of the family to Nation Funeral Home, Inc., 218 E. Lincoln Ave., McDonald, PA 15057.
