Deleta N. "Dee" Mcelhany

Deleta “Dee” McElhany, 94, of McDonald, Cecil Twp., passed Tuesday, June 28, 2022.

She was born August 7, 1927 in Woodsboro, MD; the only child of Artenas and Alta Bright Anderson.

Mrs. McElhany was a 1946 graduate of Cecil High School.

Dee was a former member of Calvary Presbyterian Church and a member of Venice Presbyterian Church. At Calvary Presbyterian Church, she was a former Elder, Sunday school teacher and a Stephen Minister. When she moved back to her childhood church in Cecil, Venice Presbyterian Church, she served as a Deacon and Sunday school teacher. She also was a charter member of the Trowel and Error Garden Club in McDonald.

Mrs. McElhany’s hobbies included sewing for many people, reading, and Bible studies.

Seventy four years ago, on June 12, 1948, she married, William E. McElhany who survives.

Also surviving are two children, Jon (Mary Ann) McElhany of Ephrata, PA., and Patricia Lewis of Canonsburg, PA; four grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren.
