Dee Elaine Mccarty

Dee Elaine McCarty, 67, of McDonald, died Wednesday, June 29, 2016 at St. Clair Hospital, Mt. Lebanon.

She was born June 29, 1949 in Washington, the daughter of the late David Campbell and Blanche Elaine (Donaldson) McCarty, Sr.

Ms. McCarty was a 1967 graduate of Fort Cherry High School and earned an Associate’s degree from Robert Morris University.

She was a clerk typist for the Welfare Office in Washington County for 18 years before retiring in 2009.

Ms. McCarty was a member of McDonald Presbyterian Church, where she served as an Elder and a Deacon. She was the treasurer for her Thursday night mixed bowling league at Bowling City, Mt. Lebanon. When her children were younger, she was a den mother for Cub Scouts and was a Rainbow Girl leader. She cherished time spent with her grandchildren.

Surviving are two daughters, Stacy Bennett of Imperial and Tara Causey of McDonald; a son, Chad (Mary) Bennett of Canonsburg; two brothers, David C. (Sue) McCarty of York and John (Carol) McCarty of McDonald; eight grandchildren, Steven (Kayla) Plavetzky, Jr., Amanda (Jake) Ewing, Brandon Bennett, Kristy Bennett, Dustin Causey, Peyton Bennett, Julie Bennett and Ryan Causey; and two great grandchildren, Silas Ewing and Andrew Plavetzky.

Friends will be received Friday, from 2 – 4 and 6 – 8 p.m. at Nation Funeral Home, Inc., 220 E. Lincoln Ave., McDonald and Saturday, from 10 a.m. until the time of services at 11:00 a.m. at Calvary Center of McDonald Presbyterian Church, W. Lincoln Ave. and Station St., McDonald, with Rev. Justin Amsler, officiating. Burial will follow in Robinson Run Cemetery, McDonald. Memorial contributions are suggested to Toys for Tots, 916 Merchant St, Ambridge, PA 15003.
