David L. Weimer

David L. “Bun Hooker” Weimer, 78, of Burgettstown, died Thursday, December 10, 2015 at his home.

He was born December 21, 1936 in McDonald, a son of the late Clyde and Josephine (Hooker) Weimer.

Mr. Weimer worked in the Blooming Mill at J&L Steel, Aliquippa until 1985. He later drove truck for Ross Mould in Washington.

He was a member of the First United Methodist Church, McDonald, the American Legion Post #175 of Washington, and the United Steel Workers of America.

Mr. Weimer served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam Era, was an avid hunter, enjoyed flea marketing, and played Santa for many different children all over Western PA.

On August 13, 1962, he married Jacqueline “Jackie” Smith, who survives.

Also surviving are a sister, Bonnie (Frank) Steffan of Cecil; a special brother-in-law, John Glenn (Cindy) Smith of Stephens City, VA; an uncle, Roy Snatchko of McDonald; and many nieces and nephews.

Deceased are two half sisters, Martha Blauvelt and Bertha Lippert; and two brothers, Harry Weimer and George Hooker.

Friends will be received from 12 – 3 and from 6 – 8 p.m. Sunday at Nation Funeral Home, Inc., 220 E. Lincoln Ave., McDonald, where services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, December 14, 2015. Burial will follow in West Middletown Cemetery, West Middletown.
