David Charles Deveaney, 54, of Cecil, died Sunday, August 7, 2011.
He was born January 29, 1957 in Canonsburg, a son of Betty C. (Donaldson) Deveaney of McDonald and the late William John “Junior” Deveaney
Mr. Deveaney was a 1975 graduate of Fort Cherry High School and earned an Associate Degree from Robert Morris University.
He worked for B.M.I./Vesuvius as an operating engineer and was a member of the Operating Engineers Local #66. He also had worked as mechanic at the former Cooper’s Service Station in McDonald.
Mr. Deveaney was a collector of antiques and enjoyed going to auctions. He liked being a mechanic and was frequently seen at King’s Restaurant in Bridgeville.
Surviving in addition to his mother are his life long friend, Lynette King of Cecil; two sisters, Melinda Ann Deveaney of McDonald and Kathleen Brown of Zion, IL; four brothers, William Deveaney of Hampstead, MD, Richard Deveaney and Timothy Deveaney, both of McDonald, and Kenneth Deveaney of Baltimore, MD; and several nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received 2-4 and 6-9 pm Thursday at Nation Funeral Home, Inc., 220 E. Lincoln Ave., McDonald, where services will be held at 11:00 am Friday, August 12, 2011, with Rev. Craig Kephart, pastor of Venice Presbyterian Church, officiating. Burial will follow in Venice Cemetery. The family suggests memorials be made to Family Hospice, 50 Moffett St., Pittsburgh, PA 15243.
