Daniel R. Bowland Jr.

Daniel R. Bowland Jr., 78, of Southview, died Wednesday, June 10, 2015 at his home.

He was born April 5, 1937 in Midland, a son of the late Daniel R. and Ann Marie (Lunn) Bowland Sr.

Mr. Bowland was a mill wright for U.S. Steel in Pittsburgh until his retirement.

He was a member of Kingdom Hall. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, playing Euchre and watching old westerns, but he was most fond of spending time with his grandchildren.

On November 23, 1957, he married Florence Marie Conn, who died May 20, 2015.

Surviving are three daughters, Janice M. (Ron) Lukasik of Southview, Jacqueline L. Bowland and Jayme D. Irwin, both of Southview; three sons, Daniel R. Bowland III and Duane C. Bowland, both of Southview, and Darrell S. (Valerie) Bowland of Canonsburg; a brother, Richard Bowland of TN; a sister, Ethel (Ed) Schmidt of Muse; eight grandchildren, Daniel R. Bowland IV, Dustin (fiancée Marilyn Lynch) Bowland, Chastity (fiancée Nick Janchenko) Coleman, Amber Coleman, Ryan Snieth, Amie (fiancée Alex Crouse) Bowland, Darrell Bowland, Jr. and Savannah Irwin; 11 great grandchildren; and five special care givers, Janelle, Erin, Skip, Michelle and Paula.

Deceased are two brothers, James and George Bowland; and a sister, Leoda Dicey.

Friends will be received from 2-4 p.m. Saturday and from 12-4 p.m. Sunday at Nation Funeral Home, Inc., 220 E. Lincoln Ave., McDonald, where services will be held at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, June 16. Burial will follow in National Cemetery of The Alleghenies, Bridgeville. The family suggests memorial contributions be made to Kingdom Hall, 198 North Branch Road, Oakdale, PA 15071.
