Charles Harry Roessler Jr.

Charles Harry Roessler, Jr., 67, of Mt. Pleasant Township, died Monday, September 21, 2015 at Shadyside Hospital of Pittsburgh.

He was born May 1, 1948 in Pittsburgh, a son of the late Charles Harry and Dorothy (Willy) Roessler, Sr.

Mr. Roessler was a 1967 graduate of West Allegheny High School and served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War.

He worked as a truck driver with Mill Service in Bulger and later with Weavertown in Cecil before retiring in 2001.

Mr. Roessler was a member of the Teamsters Local 249, the McDonald American Legion and the McDonald V.F.W.

He enjoyed motorcycles, crosswords and word search puzzles, but loved spending time with the kids.

On August 13, 1971, he married Nancy J. Small, who survives.

Also surviving are a daughter, Heather N. (Eric) Santek of Bulger; two sons, Charles H. (Bobbi Jo) Roessler III of McDonald and Russell W. (Carey) Roessler of Moon Township;  three sisters, Rebecca Medved, Barbara Cook and Betty Jo (Frank) Lapin, all of Imperial; a sister-in-law, Dorothy Jean Roessler of Clinton; ten grandchildren, Jacob, Rachel, Carli, Charles IV, Andie, Taylor, Finnegan, Randy, Matt and Marc; and three great grandchildren, , Landon, Cameron and Manny.

Deceased are a daughter, Alexis M. Roessler and a brother, Herbert Roessler.

Friends will be received from 2 – 4 and from 6 – 8 p.m. Weds. and Thurs. at Nation Funeral Home, Inc., 220 E. Lincoln Ave., McDonald, where services will be held at 12:30 p.m. Fri., September 25, 2015 with Rev. William Burns, pastor of Church of the Living Christ, Burgettstown, officiating.  Burial will follow in National Cemetery Of The Alleghenies, Bridgeville. The family requests memorial contributions be made to Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, 1275 York Avenue, New York, New York 10065.
